The market puts this at about a 0% chance — almost no chance.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 0% right now.
Despite overwhelming odds against Putin leaving office by July 31, 2026, the market's 99% 'No' reflects an ironclad incumbency advantage and lack of any credible mechanism for removal rather than a reaction to current events, as no recent headlines drive the price.
📊 Base rate: Since 1999, no Russian president has left office early except via term limit expiration (Putin in 2008) or death (Yeltsin in 1999, though resignation), giving a base rate of roughly 2% for non-scheduled early departures.
What's driving it
- • No clear catalyst recently; the odds are stable because no new rumors, protests, or health updates have emerged in headlines.
- • Putin's constitutional changes in 2020 allow him to potentially remain president until 2036, reinforcing institutional barriers to an exit.
- • The Kremlin's tight control over succession and media makes a sudden resignation or removal extremely unlikely without extraordinary external pressure.
The case for YES
- • If Putin were to suffer a sudden health crisis (e.g., stroke or heart attack) that incapacitates him, he could be 'permanently prevented from fulfilling duties,' triggering a 'Yes' resolution.
- • A major internal power struggle or coup (historically rare but not impossible) could remove him before July 31.
- • An announcement of resignation or removal—even if effective later—would immediately resolve the market 'Yes' per the rules.
The case for NO
- • Putin has faced no serious domestic or political challenge to his presidency for over two decades, and the legal framework he created extends his tenure.
- • There is no visible opposition or succession plan that would allow a smooth transition before the deadline.
- • No reliable reports of health decline, coup plots, or resignation rumors have surfaced in recently available headlines.
What to watch
- • A public medical or health update (e.g., cancellation of public appearances) — likely direction: 'Yes' if credible.
- • A Western intelligence report of internal instability or coup plotting — likely direction: 'Yes' if detailed.
- • A snap presidential election announcement (which would imply succession) — likely direction: 'No' unless Putin is replaced.

How it resolves
Settled on-chain by UMA's optimistic oracle: once an outcome is clear, anyone can propose the result, which then enters a challenge window where it can be disputed with evidence before it finalizes.
⚖️ A proposed outcome can be disputed during a challenge window before it's final.
Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to “Yes” if Vladimir Putin ceases to be President of Russia for any period of time between market creation and the specified date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of Vladimir Putin's resignation/removal before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced resignation/removal goes into effect. If the specified individual is detained, effectively removed from the specified position, or otherwise permanently prevented from fulfilling the duties of the specified position within this market’s timeframe, it will qualify for a “Yes” resolution. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Vladimir Putin and the government of Russia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
ⓘ A market settles under its own written rules, which can lag what looks decided in the news — so the price may not move to 100% the moment an outcome seems obvious.

Democratic Presidential Nominee 2028
The field is virtually nonexistent: only two candidates register at 1% each, and no one has broken 5%, making this the most open Democratic nomination race in modern history. The single biggest recent shift is the DNC's decision to put South Carolina first in the 2028 primary calendar (Axios, Jul 25), which could reshape candidate strategies and favor a different type of contender.
